Welcome to day 8 of my travel diary! This was an exciting day for me: We hopped on a train and went to Paris!
This will be a really short post because I didn’t get as many pictures as I thought I got!
We left our little place in Germany and got on a train to go to Paris, France! I was pretty excited, first of all to see all of the places I had learned about, and second of all to be in France, where I could at least understand a fraction of the language! I studied French in school, and although I lost a lot of my ability to understand and speak it since then, I know more French than I do German, which is none at all!
Here are some pictures I took from the train!
Initially on the train, I was sitting backwards, which would make me kinda sick, but I ended up being able to sit forwards because there were enough seats open on the train for me to take one that wasn’t mine.
From the train station (which was huge!), we took a taxi to our apartment. It was an experience; I had never ridden in a taxi before, and driving around the streets of Paris isn’t exactly a walk in the park! I have always marveled at how drivers can make it in big cities…
At the end of the day, we made it to the apartment! It was very pretty, and much cozier than the other place, in my opinion. As I said before in the first travel post, I’m not a big fan of the modern style; I don’t see it as very cozy, which I like the most. But the style of this apartment was definitely warmer.
We had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower as well, and for some reason, none of us knew that it lit up at certain times at night, so when it did, we totally freaked out and rushed to record and take pictures of it!
And that wraps up day 8! It was just a travel day, so it wasn’t that interesting, but it was fun to be in Paris for the first time!
Happy Paris taxi driving!
